Bio:  Caroline Speksnijder is an associate professor at the University Medical Center of Utrecht. The focus of her research team is on orofacial function deficits in patients with head and neck cancer, facial palsy, temporomandibular dysfunction, headache, orofacial trauma surgery and juvenile artritis. Thereby she develops with her team augmented reality measurements and training to optimize the orofacial motor control in patients. Thereby she is the vice-president of the World Physiotherapy Sub-group:  International Physical Therapists for HIV/AIDS, Oncology, and Palliative Care Empowerment (IPT-HOPE), board member of the International Society of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (ISMR) and International Society of Oral Oncology (ISOO) and president of the Dutch Society for Allied Healthcare in Head and Neck Oncology (PWHHT).

Caroline works also as a senior physical therapist and senior university lecturer. Her teaching experience includes courses in methodology, head and neck functioning, oncology, as well as physical therapy.
